You may be committed to improving your health and exercising, but it is a big commitment to get a membership in a gym where you can train regularly for years. Going to the gym just to exercise and then considering that the pinnacle of your health improving efforts is foolish.

If your economic situation does not allow you to join good but expensive and year long gym membership plans, then we will present you with some ways by which you can get all the benefits of gym training and more all without once setting foot into a gym. Use the following instructions to stay in shape outside of the gym.

#1. Commute to work using public transportation instead of using your own car

This point largely depends on where you live. It applies more to you if you live in a city or other large urban center that has a comprehensive public transportation system. This also depends on how far you live from your place of work. If you can easily walk and grab public transport to get to work in an hour at most, then do it. Otherwise, stick to going in a car if you have one.

You can even walk or ride a bicycle to work if your job is near enough. Although this might cost you some extra time from your day, do it to gain the advantages of burnt calories while walking and/or cycling.

#2. Get a workout video series

Both online and in DVD stores, you have an almost endless variety of different video physical training exercise shows. Invest in buying (online or offline) a series of the kind of exercise program that you like the most. Then, turn your TV room into your exercise room.

Every morning, wake up and turn on that days episode of the exercise show and do all the exercises in front of the TV, following the instructions. You don’t need any equipment or anything else except a TV or computer to get the full benefits of good exercise routines.

#3. Get out in nature more often

Admit it, you don’t make the extra effort every day to go out and take a walk on the roads, or in nature. The large numbers of jungles and woods that have so far been spared the human destruction of our planets ecosystem are a rare treat, and if you live near such a jungle, then you absolutely have to get out there frequently and enjoy the beauty and wonders of nature.

So put on your hiking shoes, hold your walking stick, wear your fedora and set out into the jungle. Hiking up and down hills and mountains will get your heart beating, and your body becoming very fit and healthy as it burns excess fat. Plus, you’ll be able to commune with the spirit of nature while in the jungle.
